Mark is saying Trump will almost definitely fire Powell. He was the first to break the news Biden was stepping down from the race, and has had other good scoops, so he is a credible source. I still have trouble believing it because of the limits of Trump's legal authority, but possible he will make an attempt. It would come with ramifications including hardening internal resistance from other Fed members. It could cause immediate volatility across risk assets, but medium term reaction would be super bullish for BTC. Narrative would be the US is going full banana republic mode. Also Gold, CHF, and EUR would go up. USD craters. Negative for treasury bonds (yields up). Mixed for stocks. Should lead to a resurgence of the narrative that foreigners will pull their assets out of the US.
