It's always funny to me when people tell artists to stay out of politics. As if art hasn't always been political. Artists have long used their work to expose injustice, document war, and challenge the powers that be. Art is a reflection of the world. In times of crisis or cultural shifts, it's the artists who interpret the moment for the masses. We turn pain into paintings. Fear into films. Politics into poetry. To ask artists to stay silent is to misunderstand what art is for.
