I'm not going to claim that parenting is easy, but a lot of people make it more work than it needs to be. If you're overwhelmed by how much time you "need" to spend parenting, it's at least partially a choice.

Theodore Dalrymple said that what made the quality of life in Rhodesia the highest in the world was not material circumstances, which were obviously more prosperous and advanced in America and Europe, but the complete freedom from menial tasks allowed by the ready availability of cheap servants. If such a supply existed in the West—cheap, dependable nannies and servants—there would be a significant increase in birth rates.
