I’m not picking on Colin in particular here (he’s awesome) but neutrally on the statement he’s making. This right here, this exact reaction between post-liberalism and Woke socialism as your “only two choices” is intentional. The radical elements of post-liberalism (Fascism) is being played off against “moderate” Woke Leftism (Communism) inducing what is known as reactance in moderates. It makes the Communist look “reasonable” in contrast to the radical. Reactance refers to a motivational reaction to rules, regulations, or attempts at persuasion that are perceived as threatening or limiting one’s freedom or autonomy. This can happen in reverse as well, a radical Woke operative can be played against a moderate post-liberal “conservative” making the post-liberal appear reasonable in comparison. Reactance will cause moderates to flee into the open waiting arms of “reasonable” Woke Left Cult of Communism. Reactance will cause moderates to flee into the open waiting arms of “reasonable” Woke Right Cult of Fascism. Back and forth unwitting moderates go, slowly handing more and more power into the hands of Woke tyrants. Make no mistake, no “moderate” Woke be it a socialist or post-liberal has your Liberty in their best interest, in fact it is the opposite. They fundamentally are no different than their radical counterparts as to the ends of American Liberty and the Constitution and what they seek is to politically nullify all of it and replace it with some form of authoritarian Statism. These are not the two options left to us, nor a third technocratic way conveniently presented to you (Elon) as a way out. That too fraught with tyranny though more cleverly veiled. No, Liberty is hard fought and hard won. It is not convenient at all but instead hard and dutiful work to secure and maintain. Do not choose one or the other or even the opt-in tyranny of the “third way”. Be responsible, be dutiful, choose Liberty.
