Wow, when I posted this earlier I had no idea how many of you would so transparently reply. I am honored and privileged by your reply. I do not take it lightly. I have prayers for each of you by name or handle, obviously not knowing any more than what you mentioned. It is an honor we have as Christians to lift each others' burdens to the one who cares enough to have been our ransom. I would like to share my challenge and trial with you all -- one that is physical, but like all challenges also spiritual. In 1984 I fell from our lake home in Minnesota - 41 days in the hospital with a crushed spine. Now 41 years and four major surgeries later I am losing the ability to stand and walk. Pain I can manage -- well, mostly only with extra strength Tylenol, periodic injections and PT But losing the ability to stand in church for singing, biking, playing with my grandkids, pickleball, helping my wife with chores, etc etc etc -- these are on an entirely different level. I get wheeled through airports on a wheel chair and use either a walker or a mobility scooter for most things. I am not angry at the Lord. In fact, I believe I know Christ more deeply because of my physical issues than I would have ever known him -- and this is far more precious to me than anything physical. My challenge is in trying to grasp ways I can honor Him and more deeply experience the Holy Spirit as I increasingly lose physical capabilities. I am not far away from 80 and have other underlying health conditions besides my spine. Most of all, I want to finish life well. I want to be a Godly example of wisdom and faith for my family. I want to be a better husband and father than I have sometimes been. So, these are the things I am dealing with. But like I stated in my earlier Tweet X post, Christ meets us at our points of struggles. Our trials are when Christ shows up. We reference the scripture about how when we knock, He listens.
