Crypto has more real use cases and product-market fit today than ever before. We have permissionless lending markets with deep liquidity and sustained usage. We can exchange any asset, at any time, from anywhere in the world. Developers can build programmable, permissionless applications on performant decentralized blockchains. Bitcoin exists as a non-sovereign store of value. And stablecoins have given us the most efficient fiat money rails the world has ever seen. The last ten years have taken crypto from an idea to a functioning global system. And while it’s easy to get cynical, I think it’s worth reminding ourselves what’s already been achieved. What’s now missing is product and distribution. I firmly believe we have the tech we need to build breakout companies that reach people far beyond crypto-natives. But doing that is hard and you don’t get the same instant feedback loop or immediate flywheels. It’s slower, more expensive, more uncertain, and that’s exactly why most teams avoid it. Still, someone has to do it and it only takes one team to break through. I don’t think it’s a technical challenge anymore, it’s a willingness to go heads down and build something that actually reaches people. I want that team to be Plasma, and I’ll do everything I can to make it happen.
