Texas is learning from Florida and is also preparing to undermine public universities. Starting in September this year, a series of new laws will be implemented, including: banning anti-Israel speech; a board of trustees composed of Republican politicians overseeing faculty hiring, curriculum design, and degree issuance; restricting cooperation with hostile countries (i.e., China), requiring approval for going abroad, and reviewing funding and hiring from abroad... Professors in Texas will also have to jump ship to blue states like their counterparts in Florida.
