The situation with real estate is essentially a modern form of imprisonment and slavery. Young families are struggling due to the high cost of housing, which is largely driven by zoning laws and nonsensical regulations. You can own miles and miles of farm land, but they won't let you put even a tiny house or a camping van, so young people are forced to live in a city, pay rent, or take loans to buy an apartment that will take 50 years to pay back. If they get sick in the process, the entire family will be on the street. And you can forget about owning a cute apartment in the center of a large city; those are all bought up by corporations that are extracting every last penny from them. The result is an artisan coffee and toast that will cost you 25 bucks, served by a person with an undefined gender, because straight and sane people are leaving cities. None of this is sustainable. And honestly, the only way to financially protect ourselves from this train wreck is to own crypto, gold, and one piece of real estate that you can call home.
