There's been increased discussion on the timeline about people reposting their own posts under viral accounts and/or notable thought leaders in the space.
Yesterday I heard something extremely alarming, that will not only discredit the creator, but also projects involved.
There is supposedly Ambassador programs from notable chains/products/companies that offer 'boosted' incentives based on the total impressions.
For example, if your post receives;
10k view = $100 bonus
20k views $200 bonus
...and so on.
A few points from me:
>There's nothing wrong with trying to get monetised on X, get that bag.
> Posting your posts under viral accounts should have relevance, for example I've done it, but honestly, it's because I've already posted about it and/or its directly under the project account and want them to see (rare instance though, and not there to boost impressions).
> You shouldn't be posting posts completely irrelevant posts that have nothing to do with the poster.
> Companies offering this should be called out, as well as creators that are clearly milking the system.
It's unethical, you're essentially endorsing poor behaviour and encouraging people to either pay for engagement or get it falsely.
It's the fastest way to discredit yourself - but hey, if you need that bag so desperately, go for it.
I hope The Kaito and Cookie team and other programs that have such teams on board can vet such programs, as there's additional crossover with leaderboard incentives too.
