I was thinking about what Sidekick could do that other projects couldn’t. LiveFi is a great topic for discussion at a consensus conference, but the "conference" itself didn’t feel exciting to me.
That day, @dov_wo called me, full of excitement: “We should host a tournament for the Web3 community.”
That one sentence instantly sparked something in me—yes, a tournament!
1. It had to belong to the entire Web3 community, not just Sidekick.
2. KOLs needed to participate—they represent countless voices.
3. We had to solve for fairness—latency could kill the competition.
4. It had to include offline events, requiring coordination across both Korea and China.
After three days of calculations, I realized the challenges were immense. Like I’ve always said—I believe we can.
We mobilized nearly the entire internal team, and on top of that, three external teams jumped in to support us.
Day 5
The mission was officially handed over to @lynette_zhou9 and @Yes_ItsJerry They familiarized themselves with everyone and everything. At the same time, I started calling my old friends.
Day 10
We secured professional tournament venues in both Korea and Shanghai, with confirmed dates.
Our high-level tournament operations team (LPL-tier) was also locked in.
Day 14
@ROKMCFIREANT and Mango Labs @dov_wo were fully prepared.
Registration opened, and the news spread like wildfire in both Chinese and Korean communities—top-tier tickers and marketers joined in.
Day 18–23: The Tournament
Jerry flew from London to Seoul. I flew from London to Shanghai. Our operations teams arrived from around the world to these two cities.
Only @Roysidekick stayed in London, tirelessly coordinating with the product team to ensure every idea was reflected perfectly in the livestream.
For the past 24 days, every single day has been a battle for us. And that’s exactly what we longed for—a war that would make every competitor afraid.
1. Relentless execution, mobilizing a 200+ person coordination team.
2. Over 650,000 online viewers.
3. Sidekick surged to the #3 spot globally in mindshare.
A perfect show—yet no matter how I write it down in these few short words, it will never fully capture the complexity behind it all.
So,What's Next. ? LFG @Sidekick_Labs
