SPC has always been hard to define. I’ve struggled with it. We have the world’s highest density of talent at the early stage... …because @southpkcommons is NOT an accelerator. It’s for founders who want to take their time. But with Urgency.
This looks like the founder who sold a company for $200M and now wants to build the $200B company. Or the AI research lead from Big Tech who knows Big Tech will never move as fast as they can. Or the team from NASA that wants to put humanoid robots on the moon.
We've debated internally how SPC relates to the term accelerator. In the past we called ourselves an anti-accelerator. But that's not quite right. The whole point is to increase the urgency and speed of the ambiguous -1 to 0 stage.
It's not a surprise that @southpkcommons attracts more experienced founders. They get -1 to 0. They're looking for their global max. They want to build their life's work.
A huge upshot here is something we haven't talked about enough: We now have a decade's worth of this insane talent density in the SPC network. The value of @southpkcommons doesn't end at 0. It's also the most talent dense 0 to 1 network around.
SPC members and alumni regularly join each other's companies. Our Series A, B, C, and later founders turn to each other for support. There's no cutting edge of tech where an SPC member isn't building.
