i used to feel conflicted about how to talk about gender in tech. most rooms i’m in are 95% men. but i never believed in lowering the bar just to fix that. recently, i realized what actually works: lower the barriers, not the bar. our code with ai coding cohorts have reached 55% women...bc we made it feel accessible, welcoming, and fun to build. the pipeline’s broken bc gatekeeping and decades of failed education - not bc women don't want to build.
