/ What Pump and Zora are trying to build is entertainment + trading The history of entertainment + trading dates all the way back to... Jim Cramer! He is the OG Neither Pump nor Zora have cracked it yet. Why? bc entertainment and finance are somewhat in conflict A 🧵
/ Now contrast that with Pump or Zora. Or even CT, and many TG groups You know that you're not in a safe space, and that other people are trying to take advantage of you
/ This is the root of the challenge With low liquidity long tail names, you will never approach the degree of psychological safety that non-finance platforms provide
/ In general, I think it's a mistake to hide/mask the inherent danger in low liquidity long tail assets. I believe that just creates conditions in which users will feel that the brand promise is violated
/ Look at the pump homepage. You think anyone can say they didn't know what they were signing up for if they lose money?
/ The most interesting thing about live-streaming on Pump is that it makes it far easier to be entertained, while still putting finance front and center The streamers are funny and entertaining, and you have no obligation to trade
/ The opportunity for cracking entertainment finance is absolutely massive. Lots of brainpower going after it, still very early in the race We are watching all of the experiments closely. If you have good hypotheses on how to crack this nut, please reach out
/ PS - time to schill our recent post on modalities for issuance and trading {fin}
