For companies going AI-first right now, the next generation workforce is going to bring in unbelievably new and interesting insights into the companies they work for. Every company should fully take advantage of this and quickly learn from this next generation.
Every summer intern class that we have, I ask them about what new tools they’re using and other trends in tech that are changing how they work or go to school.
This year the answers to this question saw the biggest change year-over-year from any other time I’ve asked. It’s obvious how different everything has become, and how much it’s going to change going forward.
Almost every tech tool that’s being leveraged is a new AI tool that didn’t exist 2 years ago. And by extension, the ways of working, coding, researching, and making decisions fundamentally changes too.
A byproduct of this is I think their curiosity level is going up. The drop in cost of learning something or testing something new also means you find your way into even more subjects. The traditional way we defined the roles in an organization will likely evolve as a result of this ability to do more and extend into other areas.
Ultimately, it’s going to shock most traditional companies how this new generation works, the tools they use, and how they operate. The speed at which they can do things will be insane, and every company should take advantage of this.
