Hey everyone, I wanted to take a moment to talk about an important design adjustment we’ve made in L3E7 — one that many of you will notice in the upcoming test.
In earlier builds, our goal was to deliver a highly immersive 3D LBS map experience — one that captured the feeling and texture of real-world cities. We worked hard to recreate that depth and atmosphere, because we believed it was key to making L3E7 feel truly alive.
But after reviewing feedback from recent tests and looking closely at player behavior, we realized it was time to make a temporary, strategic adjustment. Here’s why:
1⃣Players need clarity and functionality above all.
While 3D visuals bring immersion, they can also make it harder to focus on what really matters in gameplay — where to fight, where to capture, and how to progress. A cleaner, more readable map layout makes the core LBS loop more intuitive and satisfying.
2⃣Device performance and accessibility matter.
We’ve seen that complex 3D rendering can strain mid-tier devices, leading to frame drops and overheating. To ensure smoother performance for a broader player base, we’ve decided to simplify certain visual elements at this stage.
3⃣We’re preparing for global rollout.
With L3E7 heading toward international markets, we need to make sure the game runs well across different regions, networks, and device types. A more streamlined visual style helps us reach and retain more players worldwide.
4⃣Onboarding must be fast and intuitive.
Some new players told us they felt overwhelmed by the information density of the 3D map. A more functional, guided layout helps improve early retention and teaches core gameplay more effectively.
5⃣It’s about focus and development efficiency.
Right now, we’re putting heavy resources into refining core systems, combat, and content. Simplifying the map — for now — allows us to deliver a stronger overall experience and iterate faster on what matters most.
⭐️So to be clear: this isn’t a downgrade.
It’s a temporary shift in direction — a purposeful return to clarity, performance, and playability.
And as our optimization and rendering systems improve, you’ll definitely see high-fidelity 3D elements return, selectively and meaningfully. 🎮
L3E7’s world will continue to evolve.
