We start avoiding people when we have nothing to talk about. And we have nothing to talk about because we didn’t achieve anything. The moment we do something useful and creative, even a little bit, we start to crave people so that we can brag about it :-) That’s why having skills or useful knowledge is the ultimate cure against depression and social anxiety. We “hate” people because we have nothing to give them, so essentially, we are hating ourselves.
