Photographers are built different. There is a way they hold themselves and their craft. I’d argue they are more hardcore than a lot of other artists when it comes to conviction and holding true to a vision. At the end of the day, isn’t that what a collector is looking for?
To understand a photograph is often times harder than an oil painting. The technique, the technicals, the logistics, the subject, the environment. There are so many things that need to line up at the exact MOMENT for a photographer to capture their vision as intended. And if any of those things isn’t right, it can derail the whole shot, potentially whole project. Maybe forever. The stakes are the highest w photography, esp in the wild.
Cheers to photographers. I’ve done one major photograph project over the years. It was one of the most intense, freeing, be prepared, go with the flow, take unexpected chances, sense opportunity, jump into the fire experiences ever. I can understand the depth of what encompasses this journey of capturing a moment in time. What may look easy in the final product often doesnt tell the full story.

Grateful for this generous write up by John. It means a lot when another artist takes the time to not only engage with your work but to really see it. When the intention behind the art is understood like this, it shows me that the long hours of work and stepping out of my comfort zone was worth it. Thank you 🙏

This is one of the first nfts I collected over 4 years ago from a 12 year old girl named @NylaCollection. She came on a clubhouse stage telling us about her art and I ended up being her first collector. I thought her work stood out and was unique, especially since she was creating it on a cracked outdated iphone.
Huge congratulations on your collections 4 year anniversary! Keep creating amazing art!

A @mindzeye 🧵:
I’ve been a fan of Michael’s work for a long time and The Undoing is one of those projects that reminds me why.
The Undoing isn’t just four images stitched into a series. It’s a full story told through still frames, each one telling its own story, but together they complete a narrative.
As a photographer, I know how much intention goes into every part of a scene. The way he uses light, color, and atmosphere here is masterful. You can see how carefully the shadows are pulled into the corners, how the glow from the windows creates contrast without overexplaining the scene. What I notice is how each frame captures that space between holding on and letting go. You can feel that tension in the way the subject moves through the scene.
What stands out most to me is how he used the blockchain as part of the story instead of just a container for the images. These four photographs live independently, but they also rely on each other. Each frame is a moment, but together they build a narrative that feels cinematic and personal at the same time. It’s proof of what’s possible when photography and technology come together with real purpose.
You can see how well thought out this project is by visiting the website where you can interact with the work. The mint opens with a suitcase. Inside, a camera and the photos. The website isn’t just four images and a mint button. It’s a full experience that makes you slow down and take all the work in.
There are two editions left to mint. And honestly, it’s one of those projects I think people are going to wish they had paid more attention to.

Dear Artist! Here is my small gift to you 🙏 I can only imagine how beautiful - and at times challenging - your journey must be. Over the past few years I’ve been blessed to collect more than 1000 wonderful works from artists like you and have learned a bit along the way. In a small sense I think I understand both the beauty and the struggle. To offer something from my heart I’ve put together 20 points - non-obvious topics you may encounter, along with my thoughts on each. It’s subjective and imperfect - but I hope you’ll find it helpful and inspiring.
1. As an artist you put your heart and soul into your art. Who takes care of it matters far more than short-term monetary value.
2. Mint only when you are truly proud of your work. Treat every minted piece as an exhibition. Every work can be shown - not necessarily minted.
3. Your art can remain in your possession for years and still be incredibly valuable. They just don’t know it yet.
4. In art there’s no such thing as too much supply - only too little demand. Don’t worry about demand as long as you're truly proud of what you release.
5. Your integrity is above everything else. Thoughtless short-term gains can lead to long-term difficulties.
6. Don’t focus too much on the "market" or money - and there’s a good chance you’ll end up with more of it than you ever imagined.
7. A few passionate collectors are worth more than a thousand flippers. Feel free to revisit the first point.
8. It's better not to ask anyone to buy your art. Just share your joy and passion - the right collectors will find you when the time comes.
9. Most platforms, galleries and intermediaries may have goals that differ from yours. Find partners who love art more than money and work with them. Trust your intuition.
10. Utilize social media - it's a powerful tool. Network effects are real and can work wonders. Check out Sam Spratt for inspiration - his distribution models and social activity are great examples.
11. Avoid posting about your art sales figures - be proud of your art and your collectors - not what they paid.
12. Avoid competing with anyone. You’ve already won - it just takes time to realize it.
13. In reality you don't need anyone's recognition. Keep doing what you love - it's the only thing that matters.
14. Consider not enforcing royalties - make collectors want to send you royalties on their own.
15. Your intentions and goals do make a difference. Collectors can instinctively sense both passion and extraction with surprising accuracy.
16. If you’re not sure what to do - ask yourself: What would an artist I admire do if he were me? There are many reasons why the greats are appreciated - learn from them.
17. In art there is no pressure, no rush and no deadlines. Enjoy the experience and the journey to the fullest. Feel blessed as you are blessed.
18. Don’t be afraid to give - everything you give will come back to you tenfold. Study the origins of Punks and Lost Robbies for inspiration.
19. Consider becoming a collector of your own works.
20. When you achieve great success remember your roots and your journey. Stay humble and grateful.
I dedicate these thoughts to all the wonderful artists who have so generously shared their hearts with me along the way. May you all be blessed to the fullest ❤️🔥
